Well, I've had quite and adventure with Face Book the past couple of days. It was interesting and fun but a little surreal to reconnect with people from elementary school! It wasn't feeling quite natural to combine the old friend connecting thing with people I know through my work so I decided the page will be only for connecting to others who know me through the blog or are in the fabric design or related fields, and for connecting with others who are interested in fabric, sewing, quilting, crafting. interior design, architecture and photography.
I mean, to be honest, if we haven't talked for 20 years, we probably don't have much to say, right? Just my little take on it. (I'm with you on this thing Monica).
I am finding it a really great way to communicate with people really quickly though, something I'm not great at, mostly because I'm disorganized, and that I hope to get better at (that's the confession, I want to get better at it!).
So, if you know me through the blog and want to friend me there, that would be peechy keen. And if there are any interesting craft or related groups that you belong to on facebook and think are great please let me know.
French Hatbox next post!!

It IS weird combining childhood/college friends with professional friends. I think I'm just going to start a second Facebook page for my business.

I tried the whole facebook thing and then canceled my subscription after a few days...I too found it too weird talking to people I hadn't spoken to in 15+ years and realizing that all the skeletons from my past could find me...not that I have many skeletons...but you know what I mean :o)

Surreal is a good word for it. It is a little freaky having all the different phases of life collide in one spot...

I love it for connecting with relatives, but I fear being friended from the past... "hey Monica, remember that time in high school when you...". And I STILL haven't grasped writing and commenting on walls - how it all works. I'm just glad were friends, Tanya... in facebook... and in-real-life-book!

I joined FB not long after I read this post. When I got on there and started learning everything I kept thinking about this post. I laughed. I kinda feel that way too. I have talked to a couple of people that I haven't seen in a while but I am like you... if we haven't talked in years that means that we pretty much aren't going to be friends if we talk again. Just thought I would say hi and let you know that I have thought about you and snickered several times lately. :)
